Fees

All five of them, who receives each, and what we do not charge for.

Every fee Calivra charges is on this page. There are five, none of them is a surprise later, and each one is named in the flow where you pay it.

Network fees are separate. They are paid to the network for including your transaction and they never reach us. They are small on this network but they are never zero, which is why a wallet with exactly zero cannot trade.

What each one is for

Creating a coin, 0.001 ETH

Sized to make bulk creation cost something, not to earn. A wallet creating a thousand coins pays one ETH for the privilege and stops.

Trading on the launch curve, 1% to 5%

There is no single trading fee here. Each coin has its own rate, and the person who created it chose it. They picked a whole percent between 1% and 5% at the moment they made the coin, and nobody can change it afterwards, including us. There is no function anywhere in the contracts that would let anyone raise the rate on a coin you already hold.

Whatever the coin charges, our part of it is always 0.75% of the trade and never more. Everything above that is the creator's.

The coin chargesWe getThe creator gets
1%0.75%0.25%
2%0.75%1.25%
3%0.75%2.25%
4%0.75%3.25%
5%0.75%4.25%

It is charged on every buy and on every sell, so you pay it twice on a round trip. Buying and selling straight back leaves you down about 2% on a coin at 1% and about 10% on a coin at 5%, before the price has moved at all. This is the usual reason a new holding shows a loss immediately.

The rate is on every coin card and on the coin page before you buy, and the amount is in the panel where you confirm. If you cannot see it, do not buy.

Trading after the coin reaches the open market

Once a coin has raised 4.2 ETH it moves into a public pool and the launch curve is finished. The pool charges the same rate the coin charged on its curve. It is written into the pool once, when the pool opens, and it never changes after that.

The split is the same as on the curve: we get 0.75% of the trade and the creator gets the rest.

The creator's share is a share of the trade, not a share of our fee. On a coin at 1% the creator gets 0.25% of every trade. Quoted as a share of the fee it would look like a number a hundred times smaller, and creator income is stated against the trade on every surface here.

The position that earns those fees is held by a contract with fixed shares and a collection function anybody can call. Nobody can point it somewhere else afterwards, including us.

Moving a coin to the open market, 0.025 ETH

Taken once, out of the 4.2 ETH the coin raised, so 4.175 ETH goes into the pool. It is not a preference. It is a term in the arithmetic that makes the last price on the launch curve exactly equal the opening price in the pool, so there is no gap for anybody to trade against at the moment of the move.

Out of that 0.025 ETH, 0.001 ETH is paid to whoever triggers the move. Anybody can trigger it, including you, and whoever does pays the network fee and collects that 0.001 ETH.

Buying in the first few seconds, extra

For the first 30 blocks of a coin's life, which is about 3.3 seconds on this network, a buy costs extra. The extra starts at 27% and falls to nothing across that window.

This exists to make it expensive to win a race that a beginner cannot enter. Every unit of that extra goes into the coin's own liquidity, held for the coin and placed into its pool later as a permanently locked standing bid. None of the principal comes to us.

One honest residual: that standing bid is a position like any other in the pool, so the trading fees it earns are split the same way as every other position, 0.75% of the trade to us and the rest to the creator. The principal never reaches us. The fees it later earns eventually do.

What we do not charge

  • Nothing for connecting a wallet.
  • Nothing for holding a coin.
  • Nothing for looking at anything.
  • No withdrawal fee, because there is nothing to withdraw from. We never hold your money.
  • No paid placement of any kind. Nobody can buy a position in a list here. If that ever changes it will be labelled as an advertisement, as prominently as everything else on the card.

Limits on creating

To stop bulk creation, some actions are rate limited. These are published here rather than discovered at the moment they stop you.
